The 2009 / 2010 Energy Efficiency Tax Credit has been raised from
10% to 30% of the amount spent on energy efficient doors and windows. (Credit is based upon the amount spent on the product only. Installation labor costs are not included.) |
How do you qualify?
- The maximum tax credit has been raised to $1500 for a
two-year period
(2009-2010) for all improvements combined.
- So, $5000 spent on energy efficient products x .30% = $1500 tax credit.
- This tax credit applies to taxpayer’s primary residence, not for commercial properties.
- Taxpayers should consult a tax professional for details.
